WHO WE ARE

It is in our DNA at Neufeld Home Shop to make the things that we use every day. Our fathers would rather fix what is broken than buy it again; build sheds, houses and decks rather than hire someone to do it. Our mothers patched clothing rather than throwing them away; killed, plucked and cleaned the chickens we ate. 

 

In today's world it is cheaper to buy the things we use than it is to make them. The most valuable asset people have is time. Factory lines and cheap labour in far-away countries have brought down the price of every-day items; it makes more sense to trade in a relatively low dollar amount for the item we want than to trade in the time it takes to make it. Thus, the practical skills once requisite in every home have largely been replaced by automation and mass production.

 

Nonetheless, at Neufeld Home Shop we enjoy working with our hands and we take pride in it.
